Lose weight and improve your lifestyle with the Weigh to Health program, a series of classes offered by the LiVe Well Center at Dixie Regional Medical Center. The classes are taught by a registered dietitian with guest instructors such as an exercise specialist, behavior specialist, and chef. Topics include nutrition, exercise, meal planning, emotional eating, how to read food labels, positive self-talk, intuitive eating, behavior modification, stress management, shopping on a budget, healthy cooking, eating out, and physical activity ideas.
To get started in the class, you must attend an orientation class, offered at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.
The program includes two individual sessions with a registered dietitian and exercise incorporated into every class.
There are three mandatory core classes,but the remaining classes can be selected by the participant according to individual needs and interests. This is a 12 week program and you can start whenever after taking the monthly orientation class. Subsequent classes will be every Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the new LiVe Well Learning Hub on Level One of the Dixie Regional Health & Performance Center.
The cost for the whole package is $491.67. SelectHealth members have no upfront costs to participate, but must meet the following eligibility requirements and complete the program:
- Body Mass Index of greater than 30
- Body Mass Index of 30 or less with a diagnosed health related condition such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, etc.
