Low Back Pain

Intermountain physical therapists have received specialized training to reduce your low back pain in fewer visits saving you time and money. Most patients can avoid expensive and risky surgery with our treatment.

  • Exercise is our speciality. We target the specific areas of your back that need to be strengthened or stretched.
  • Manipulation is a treatment we offer. Not everyone needs a manipulation. We only perform it on the patient that needs it and we don't keep doing it if it is not helpful.
  • Core strengthening is important to most individuals with low back pain. We test you to identify the weak areas of your stomach or back and train you to do your exercises at home.
  • Traction is helpful for a small percent of patients with low back pain. Our clinics have traction tables and therapists who can identify those who will benefit from traction.
  • Prevention of future low back pain is priority of our treatment. As high as 80% of all patients who have back pain once will have it again. This can be reduced when the patient receives the proper education, exercise and makes appropriate lifestyle changes.
