Practice Focus

I am well trained in treatment of the broad range of patients from birth to death. While maintaining that wide spectrum I place emphasis on preventive and anticipatory care especially in the newborn, pediatric and adolescent. Acute illness and injury treatment that includes respiratory, gastrointestinal and other infectious etiology as well as laceration repair, basic foreign body removal and simple fracture stabilization is encompassed. Sports medicine consultation in pre-participation physical, healthy sports nutrition and supplementation as well as injury prevention and treatment are included. Additionally but not exclusively I include comprehensive management of mental health, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disease, general womens health and coronary/vascular medical treatment. This is all provided in a comprehensive/holistic approach to include mental and spiritual wellbeing both short and long term.

Personal Bio & Interests

My personal interests are as broad as my medicine practice. There is not an area of life that I don't find interest, but find greatest satisfaction in smaller intimate group social interaction. First and foremost I find greatest interest in my immediate and extended family. They provide a backbone through which I find meaning to life. Spiritual connection is paramount to me in this development of meaning and social interaction. This meaning has expanded into my daily interaction with patients, which drives most of my active as well as downtime activities. I enjoy culinary arts, outdoor sports and activities, music and theater, as well as intellectual pursuits of political and scientific nature. The broad range of family medicine coupled with the speed of change within the medical/scientific world requires continual attention to remain up-to-date and relevant and therefore the degree of extracurricular activities has been somewhat limited by the time required in this pursuit. But it is exactly this that I enjoy as medicine is a part of me, it is not something that I do only as a profession. As such I continue to focus on the best ways to anticipate not just react to an individual's medical needs. In this pursuit I am focused on providing all the necessary education as well a creating an environment of trust through a care team that will enable the best care possible.
