It's much easier to do something for yourself than it is to punish yourself—right?

If you're paying attention to your health, trying to eat right and get more exercise, you may feel like the day is filled with things you "can't" or "shouldn't" have, and that's depressing. It's hard to keep saying NO to yourself over and over again.

But what if what you are really saying is YES? "Yes, I can be healthy," "Yes, I can look great," and "Yes, I can feel my best."

Instead of depriving yourself, flip your decision-making process on its head and start making the choices that are going to give you the life you want and deserve. Deciding to eat a salad with some protein so you have energy and feel good becomes a happier, smarter choice than giving in and getting the cheeseburger and fries that may be easier in the moment, but for which you'll pay with a lack of energy and a body that doesn't feel as good as it could.

Sure, you'll have to bypass the unhealthy foods and push yourself a bit to get off the couch to get moving, but if you think about it, those are momentary feelings and they pass quickly. The good feelings you get from taking care of yourself lasts longer. It's all about saying yes to the right things!
