How can we help?
By now, the motor neurons in the brain are more developed, so your baby's movements are more controlled and conscious. Your baby can scoot, flip, and wiggle around in the bubble of the amniotic sac. (There's still plenty of room to move.)
By now, you may have felt your baby move. The sensation may be subtle — a fluttering or bubbling feeling, perhaps like tiny popcorn pops. Later on, of course, you'll feel definite kicks and rolls as your baby moves inside you.
If this is your first pregnancy, you may not feel or recognize your baby's movements just yet. Experienced mothers, however, often report feeling their baby move as early as 16 weeks of pregnancy.
Watch the heat. While you may be tempted to soak in a hot tub or melt your stress in a sauna, now is not the time. Overheating your body can harm your developing baby. Stay out of hot tubs and saunas, and take care to stay cool during exercise.
