Water provides a unique exercise environment for the expectant mother. The buoyancy and resistive properties of water help condition the body without increasing stress to the joints, spine, and your baby. In addition to staying active, exercising in water can help decrease swelling and discomfort associated with pregnancy. It has been shown that women who exercise during pregnancy return to pre-pregnancy weight, flexibility, and strength faster than women who do not exercise.
This program requires a physician’s referral.
Audience: This class is recommended for women who have exercised prior to pregnancy, as well as for post-partum weight loss.
