DescriptionOption #1 – Childbirth Preparation + Sibling Class = $70 (Price is per couple for Childbirth Preparation and includes sibling class for all children in the same family)
: The Childbirth Preparation class is taught by a Registered Nurse. In this class you'll learn about pregnancy changes, pain management options, breathing and relaxation, labor and delivery, infant feeding options, postpartum adjustments and newborn care. A tour of Labor and Delivery area is included. This is a onetime class that meets for 8 hours. We encourage this class be taken around your sixth or seventh month of pregnancy; however, it can be taken anytime. Please bring 2 pillows and dress comfortably. Childbirth Preparation will be held on Saturday February 22nd from 8:30am -4:30pm with a lunch break from 12:30pm - 1:30pm. The Sibling Class is for siblings who are expecting a new baby in their family. The instructor will help them to feel more comfortable with the new arrival and to give them ideas to help them feel more involved in the care of their new baby brother/sister. The instructor has many activities for the children to do in the class to help them get excited about bringing a new baby home. This is a one-time class that lasts for an hour and a half. The Sibling Class will be held on Thursday February 20th from 6:30-8:00pm.
Option #2 – Childbirth Preparation + Sibling Class + Baby Care = $80 per couple: This course covers the growth and development of a newborn, safety tips, newborn care at home, how to recognize when a baby is ill and when to call a doctor. This is a onetime class and lasts for two hours. Recommended for mom and dad and can be taken at any time. Baby Care will be held on Tuesday March 18th from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
Option #3 – Childbirth Preparation + Sibling Class + Baby Care + Breastfeeding = $90 per couple: The Breastfeeding class is designed to prepare expectant mothers for breastfeeding and is taught by our Board Certified Lactation Consultant and specialized Lactation Registered Nurses. We encourage a support person to attend with mom. You will learn how to get breastfeeding off to a good start with proper latch-on techniques, nursing positions, engorgement prevention and treatments, as well as expression and storage of breast milk. This is a one-time class that lasts for two and a half hours. We recommend attending this between 32 and 37 weeks gestation, however, it can be taken anytime. Breastfeeding will be held on Tuesday March 18th from 4:00 - 6:30pm. Baby Care & Breastfeeding will be held on the same night, back to back.
