Option #1 – Childbirth Preparation + Infant CPR = $75 per couple: The Childbirth Preparation class is taught by a Registered Nurse. In this class you'll learn about pregnancy changes, pain management options, breathing and relaxation, labor and delivery, infant feeding options, postpartum adjustments and newborn care. A tour of Labor and Delivery area is included. This class is four, two-hour sessions. We encourage this class be taken around your sixth or seventh month of pregnancy; however, it can be taken anytime. Please bring 2 pillows and dress comfortably. Childbirth Preparation will be held on Thursday/Wednesday March 13, 19, 26 & 27th. Each class will be from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Infant CPR is for new parents, grandparents, family members and anyone who wants to learn lifesaving infant CPR and choking skills but does not need a course completion card. This is a 1-hour class that will teach you how to perform CPR on an infant as well as help an infant who is choking. Infant CPR will be held on Wednesday April 9th from 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
Option #2 – Childbirth Preparation + Infant CPR + Baby Care = $85 per couple: This course covers the growth and development of a newborn, safety tips, newborn care at home, how to recognize when a baby is ill and when to call a doctor. This is a onetime class and lasts for two hours. Recommended for mom and dad and can be taken at any time. Baby Care will be held on Wednesday April 9th from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Note, Infant CPR & Baby Care are held on the same day back to back.
Option #3 – Childbirth Preparation + Infant CPR + Baby Care + Breastfeeding = $95 per couple: The Breastfeeding class is designed to prepare expectant mothers for breastfeeding and is taught by our Board Certified Lactation Consultant and specialized Lactation Registered Nurses. We encourage a support person to attend with mom. You will learn how to get breastfeeding off to a good start with proper latch-on techniques, nursing positions, engorgement prevention and treatments, as well as expression and storage of breast milk. This is a one-time class that lasts for two and a half hours. We recommend attending this between 32 and 37 weeks gestation, however, it can be taken anytime. Breastfeeding will be held on Tuesday April 8th from 4:00 - 6:30pm.
