Intermountain and community partners are offering free digital programs to help patients and their caregivers improve their health while social distancing. Here are details about three programs and how to participate:
Better Choices Better Health is an online program designed to help you learn how to effectively self-manage a chronic condition. The program runs two hours per week for six weeks and is available online at no charge. Participants say the class helps reduce health-related distress, pain, and disability; increases aerobic and strength exercises; and reduces healthcare utilization. Register and learn more here.
Prediabetes 101 teaches participants the basics of preventing type 2 diabetes, including physical activity, healthy eating, working with your healthcare team, and proper weight management. The free 25-minute video is available in English or Spanish.
The Utah Tobacco Quit Line (1-800-Quit-Now) is a free telephone coaching program that can help tobacco users end their addiction. You can find information about the quit line as well as online coaching at waytoquit.org.
