Intermountain’s Medical Group has been recognized as a 2020 Acclaim Award Honoree by the American Medical Group Association (AMGA).

The annual award is the AMGA Foundation’s most prestigious quality recognition. It honors elite physician groups from around the country who are measurably improving the quality and value of care, improving patient experience and outcomes, continuously learning and innovating, and improving population health.

“This recognition acknowledges Intermountain’s influence as a national healthcare thought leader and innovator,” said Chief Physician Executive Mark Briesacher, MD. “But more importantly, it underscores our dedication to doing what is right for our patients and communities. Thank you and congratulations to all of our caregivers for helping achieve this honor!”

Intermountain was selected for its efforts to improve quality of outcomes, cost of care, patient engagement, and physician wellbeing. Specific endeavors that lead to the honor include:

  • Intermountain’s development of an antibiotic stewardship campaign to prevent adverse events and near misses from a system level.
  • Enhancement of telemedicine capabilities to provide access to quality, affordable healthcare services to all populations and communities.
  • Development and expansion of Reimagined Primary Care, Intermountain’s novel, value-based practice model that has shown double-digit increases in the outcomes of Quality of Care Performance metrics.

Intermountain will be recognized later this month at the AMGA’s annual conference alongside fellow honorees Kentucky-based St. Elizabeth Physicians and Minnesota-based HealthPartners.

The AMGA is a trade association leading the transformation of health care in America. AMGA Foundation is AMGA’s nonprofit arm that enables medical groups and other organized systems of care to consistently improve health and health care.
