Intermountain Healthcare has many career opportunities requiring a variety of skills, education, experience, licensure and/or certifications and employee health requirements. Job descriptions outline the requirements for each specific position.
Immunizations
Intermountain is committed to protecting our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all employees to be immunized according to CDC standards. All employees including those who do not do direct patient care, will be required to be vaccinated for MMR, Tdap, Varicella, the annual Influenza and Hepatitis B for some jobs. A 2-step TB step is also required. Only limited exemptions are allowed including documented medical contraindications or documented religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
Licensure/Certification
To ensure competency of our caregivers, professional licensure and certification may be required. Licenses must be current and must enable providers to practice within the state of Utah or Idaho, depending on the position location. Proof of required licensure or certification must be obtained prior to employee's start date.
Education
Education verification supports Intermountain’s efforts to ensure a competent workforce. In clinical facilities it is a Joint Commission requirement. Intermountain verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
Post-secondary educational institution and programs accreditation is based on the US Department of Education’s database. To verify an institution's accreditation visit the U. S. Department of Education's website by clicking here
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
Many health care positions and many positions within Intermountain Healthcare require current valid CPR Certification for the healthcare provider or professional rescuer. We recommend obtaining current CPR before applying for positions requiring this certification. Candidates without a current certification may not be considered.
