Maternal and Fetal Medicine (MFM) provides care for women who are pregnant and considered “high-risk”. The goal of MFM is to supplement patient care through the team efforts of the perinatologist and your private physician.
Our high-risk physician team can work with your private physician in a consultative, co-management (both working together) relationship or they may recommend your care be assumed by our high-risk team for close monitoring and care.
Specialists in MFM consult frequently with mothers whose pregnancies are complicated by medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, twins, previous premature birth or repetitive miscarriages.
