Utah Valley Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department (ED) provides 24-hour treatment, seven days a week, for all types of acute medical and trauma conditions, including emergent trauma injuries. Utah Valley Regional is Utah County's only Emergency Department that has round-the-clock coverage of all major medical specialties, including neurosurgical, orthopedic, plastic and general surgeons. The Utah Valley Regional Emergency Department offers our community compassionate attention from our highly trained team of physicians, nurses, technicians and support staff.
The Emergency Department treats patients of all ages – from infants through adults. Patients are seen in order of acuity, meaning those with the most severe conditions are seen first. However, the goal of the department is to have a doctor see every patient within 30 minutes of their arrival. All physicians in the ED are board certified in emergency medicine.
Upon arrival at the ED, each patient will be seen by a triage nurse and then taken to a treatment room as quickly as possible. Registration takes place in the treatment rooms. Patients who may need financial assistance for their visit may request information from the registrar who visits with them.
Expanded in 2005, Utah Valley’s Emergency Department features:
- 26 patient beds
- Two fully-equipped trauma rooms
- A cardiac room
- A general radiology room
- Designated pediatric, OB/GYN, orthopedic and psychiatric rooms
- A new walk-in entrance and waiting area
- Private family consultation room
Utah Valley Regional Medical Center is also home to an Intermountain Life Flight helicopter 24 hours a day. Through Life Flight, we are able to transport patients and bring highly specialized emergency equipment and medical personnel to remote areas or accident scenes where time is of the essence. Our Life Flight crews consist of highly trained nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and physicians who provide patients with the best possible care during transport.
