Life Flight has several bases along the Wasatch Front and southern Utah: McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden; Intermountain Medical Center, Murray; Primary Children’s Medical Center, Salt Lake City; Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Provo; and Dixie Regional Medical Center, St. George.
The service area for Life Flight helicopters generally encompasses a 150-mile area around the base and includes inter-facility transport, scene response, or hoist/rescue –search and rescue missions.
Life Flight operates three Beechcraft B200 King Air fixed wing aircraft: two based at the Salt Lake City International Airport and one at the St. George Regional Airport.
We provide transport services throughout the Intermountain West. Our fixed wing aircraft can travel 1,000 miles before refueling, and we routinely transport patients from Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, and other locations within the western United States.
A specially designated neonatal critical care ambulance is based at Primary Children’s Medical Center and Dixie Regional Medical Center in partnership with Gold Cross Ambulance Services to transport critically-ill infants. Primary Children’s Life Flight Neonatal Team provides specialized nursing care for these ground units.
