Hold On To Dear Life® Campaign
The Hold On To Dear Life® campaign was established at Primary Children's Medical Center in 1991 to educate the community on the necessity of child protection. Although the original campaign focused solely on child restraint/seat belt use, over the past several years it has broadened to include child abuse prevention/child protection, gun safety in the home, and other injury prevention topics.

Sign up to become involved with child advocacy efforts and to get information about legislation affecting the well-being of children.

Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
Utah's Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides health coverage for children of working families who are unable to afford a private health plan.

Child Health and Safety Information
Access dozens of child health and safety brochures provided by Primary Children's Medical Center.

Free Car Seat Inspections
Primary Children's Medical Center holds community car seat inspections at the hospital on:
  • Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment only
All car seat inspections are made by appointment. Call (801) 662-CARS for an appointment. For dates and times of additional checkpoints held throughout the state, call (801) 662-CARS.

Volunteer opportunities
Volunteers are needed to help with child car seat inspections. If you are interested in helping during these inspections or with other safety activities, please call (801) 662-6580 for information.

Utah Safe Kids Coalition
The mission of the Utah SAFE KIDS Coalition is to make Utah a safer place for children by preventing injuries and fatalities through raising community awareness, influencing policies, promoting safety, and establishing private/public partnerships. For more information, call (801) 538-6852.
