The McKay-Dee Hospital NUHOPE (Northern Utah HOPE) Suicide Prevention Program has been selected as one of ten "Programs of Excellence" winners in the U.S. to receive a $10,000 award.

The award is given by the Hospital Charitable Services Awards, a national program sponsored by Jackson Healthcare. NUHOPE was chosen as a winner based on high rankings in innovation, collaboration, excellence in community impact, leading practices, and program replication.

The NUHOPE program includes awareness events and proven effective practices to provide trainings and connect the community with resources. The school-based suicide prevention classes reach 12,000 students annually. NUHOPE also partners with other suicide prevention organizations at state and national levels.

Suicide is a serious issue in Utah and a top public health concern.
