What is Leukodystrophy?

Leukodystrophy is a group of rare diseases that affect the white matter of the brain. The white matter has nerve fibers covered by a protective layer called myelin, which helps send nerve signals quickly. Children diagnosed with leukodystrophy struggle with moving, speaking, seeing, hearing, and thinking.
