About us

Our spina bifida program has a collaborative team that focuses on addressing all aspects of care throughout your child’s development. We know that life is more than just appointments, and we are here to support your child’s educational and recreational needs as they grow in both age and independence.

What sets us apart

We are here to support your child at every stage of their development.

Our spina bifida prenatal program helps you find out if your unborn baby has a spine problem called a neural tube defect. We provide families with helpful information to aid in their choices about their baby’s care.

With our independent skills clinic, we help your child learn to do things on their own. At the clinic, you will find the right tools and team to help your child move around better and work on bladder and bowel care.

We work with pediatric specialists experienced in treating spina bifida. Our team closely monitors your child's physical, social, and mental development with the help of nurses, therapists, and psychologists. Nutrition and proper weight management are crucial for children with spina bifida, which is why we also work with dietitians to keep track of your child's growth. Our well-rounded care team supports your family every step of the way.

We believe in continually improving our knowledge of spina bifida to provide you and your child with the best care. That's why we participate in the spina bifida registry project run by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This project involves a team of specialists dedicated to enhancing the lives of children with spina bifida. We specifically manage and monitor the progress of newborns to children aged five, keeping detailed records of their development and health through regular check-ups and reports.

Our transition program assists teenagers with spina bifida in becoming more independent. We focus on helping them achieve key developmental milestones that improve their growth, academic success, and social connections. The program includes four main areas: medical care, community involvement, support for school and work, and emotional health. We offer resources for adult healthcare, mental health services, college preparation, workplace readiness, driving, and personal development. Additionally, we provide work rehabilitation, fun activities, financial assistance, and help with legal guardianship matters.
