What sets us apart

We make things easy by bringing people together, that way you don't have to go searching for answers. In this partnered approach to your child's care, we also work with our experienced genetics teams because over 200 genes are linked to hearing loss. By offering testing and the most up-to-date care, we are dedicated to the best care possible for your child.

What to expect

At your visit, you and your child will meet our team of specialists, including a pediatric ENT, medical geneticist, genetic counselor, and audiologist. After the exam, if needed, we'll give you information about potential diagnoses, options for genetic testing, and help you get any insurance authorizations. Once the testing is done, you'll have a follow-up visit with the geneticist and genetic counselor to go over the results.

Our team

Pediatric Otolaryngologists (ENTs) check the ear, nose, and throat to manage hearing issues, airway problems, and speech difficulties.

Audiologists will assess your child’s hearing needs, provide counseling, and refer you to other doctors if needed. If your child has issues with their hearing device or needs a new earmold, the audiologist can help troubleshoot or take impressions.

Genetic counselors are part of your healthcare team, helping with risk assessment, education, and support for inherited conditions. They interpret genetic tests, offer counseling, and advocate for patients. A genetic counselor works with the medical geneticist to review your child's medical and family history, discuss testing options, and explain test results.

Medical geneticists are doctors who specialize in how genes affect health. They evaluate, manage, treat, and counsel patients and families with genetic conditions. Our medical geneticists work with the genetic counselor to determine the cause of your child's hearing loss. This involves reviewing medical history, performing a physical examination, and discussing the possibility of genetic testing.

Nurse coordinators help families by organizing services, appointments, and tests. They ensure smooth communication between the team members and assist with scheduling follow-up appointments. The nurse coordinator makes sure that your child's team works together to provide the best care possible.
