Your Travel Experience and Special Things to Know

*Please verify travel testing requirements for your destination prior to obtaining a test at Intermountain. Some locations have specific approved tests that Intermountain may not be able to provide. Intermountain uses a saliva PCR test. See below for other travel testing options that might better suit your needs.

You may also want to check with your insurance company to see if they cover the costs of COVID-19 for travel or other reasons if you are not sick. Each insurance company may handle this differently.

OTHER LOCATIONS: IF you need a RAPID TEST, or any type of SWAB PCR test (e.g., NP or Nasal), you can also access OTHER COMMUNTY locations including health departments, pharmacies, and other testing vendors. For more information on testing resources outside of Intermountain Healthcare see the following resources:

If You are Uninsured

Patients who are uninsured and are a U.S. citizen and a Utah resident: qualify for COVID-19 testing coverage through Medicaid for medically necessary tests. Intermountain is committed to provide needed treatment for all patients regardless of ability to pay. Individuals who do not have insurance and who do not qualify for the Medicaid option may also be tested. Financial assistance is available for the provider visit.  Click here for more information about Intermountain's Financial Assistance.

Intermountain has established a standard payment rate of $100 for COVID-19 testing.
