About our Foundation

The Platte Valley Medical Center Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the programs and services of Platte Valley Medical Center. For over 30 years, charitable contributions have helped us add new technology, bring new services to our community and greatly enhance the comfort and care of the patients and families we serve.

Your philanthropic support of our locally owned and governed non-profit hospital will help us stay on the forefront of technology and provide full access and emergency care for those who live and work in our community.

Through your generosity, the Platte Valley Medical Center Foundation will continue to support the highest level of compassionate care and technology for our community.

We invite you to join us in pursuing our mission of support for Platte Valley Medical Center. Your gift will help us change lives and make a positive difference in the health care services that are available for our community.

Sincerely,
Platte Valley Medical Center Foundation,
Board of Directors

More about the Foundation

Learn more about us

Platte Valley Medical Center is a reflection of the energy and pioneering spirit of a passionate community. This community rallied together in 1958, formed an army of local residents, and went door to door to raise funds for the construction of a new hospital. In 1960, we became the first private general medical-surgical hospital in Adams and Southern Weld Counties.

Today, Platte Valley Medical Center remains the cornerstone of improving the health and wellness of the community. PVMC is also one of the only community-owned hospitals in the metro area, which means it is not owned or operated by a healthcare system but governed by a community board where decisions are made at a local level.

As a result, the Platte Valley Medical Center Foundation has identified opportunities to expand healthcare services to meet the ever-changing needs of our community. To realize this vision, the Foundation Board invites you to invest in this new horizon of healthcare at Platte Valley Medical Center.

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Platte Valley Medical Center Foundation accepts gifts of real estate, including houses, condominiums, commercial properties, farm land, rental property, and undeveloped land after a thorough review of the property and its potential usage by the foundation. Prior to the acceptance of any parcel of real property, as a minimum, a Phase 1 environmental assessment of the potential environmental risks will be conducted. For all gifts of real estate, the Gift Acceptance Committee will review the results of such assessment and recommend to the appropriate administrators and Board Committees whether the gift should be accepted.

One way to boost your charitable contributions is to give shares of appreciated assets, including stocks, bonds, certificates of deposit, art and real property.

They are easily valued without an appraisal, and easy to transfer. Donating appreciated securities before they are sold typically results in a tax advantage. A tax deduction is normally allowed based on the market value at the time of the gift. Since the deduction is based on current value, rather than cost, no tax is paid on the appreciation.

All gifts will be reviewed by the foundation’s Board of Directors for compliance with our policies before being accepted.
