History

Since opening its doors in 1982, Alta View Hospital has offered high quality inpatient and outpatient medical care. Alta View is well known for its excellent care in women’s health services, labor and delivery, emergency service and trauma care, imaging, lab services, acute and intensive care, surgical services, physical therapy, and other medical services like our sleep lab, heart care, and infusion services— all delivered in a personable, compassionate, and family-oriented atmosphere.

Alta View Hospital has been named as one of the nation's top 100 community hospitals, as ranked by independent healthcare consultants. In 2020, the Human Rights Campaign recognized five Intermountain hospitals with inclusion in the Healthcare Equality Index. Alta View Hospital earned the best-possible score of 100 points to receive designation as a LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader in the HEI report.

As an active member of the community it serves, Alta View Hospital works hard to improve quality of life by helping people live the healthiest lives possible and supporting efforts and initiatives dedicated to the same mission.

Alta View Hospital is located in the southeast corner of the Salt Lake Valley and is the hospital of choice for the surrounding communities including Sandy, Draper, White City, Cottonwood Heights, and Midvale.

Volunteering

Many dedicated, talented, and service-oriented people make up our volunteer team at Alta View Hospital. They serve in many places and capacities, including helping in the emergency department, surgery waiting areas, nursery, gift shop, and more. Interested in Becoming a Volunteer? Must be at least 14 years old Complete an online application or stop by the volunteer office Provide a character reference Complete new volunteer orientation requirements Comply with volunteer health requirements: a two-step tuberculosis screening, t-dap vaccination, and proof of current immunizations Consent to a criminal background check and a drug test Be physically able to complete the tasks required of the position.
