The Day Treatment and Education program supports children ages five through 13 years (until their 14th birthday) with meeting therapeutic and educational goals. Children are enrolled as students in the Sister Daniel Stefani School on our campus. If they qualify for extended school year (ESY) during the summer, students can be enrolled year-round. They are taught by licensed special education teachers and receive clinical support through school social workers. Our school is an approved facility school by the Colorado Department of Education and a licensed facility through the Colorado Department of Human Services.
As a therapeutic milieu, our school is designed to move children towards emotional health and eventually be successful in a public-school setting. We consider academic and developmental levels when providing services. Our goals are to provide quality therapeutic and educational services for children who have significant trauma, neglect, and behavioral health challenges impacting their educational success.
We work with children, parents, guardians or referral sources to empower children to succeed in the least restrictive setting possible. We involve each child in developing their individualized education plan (IEP). This plan is developed with our special education and clinical teams’ academic, behavioral and treatment goals.
Upon discharge from our Day Treatment and Education program, we may provide intensive in-home or outpatient therapy to children if appropriate.
