Why choose us

We offer comprehensive foregut and bariatric care. Obesity and reflux go hand-in-hand for many patients, and if weight loss is part of the treatment plan, we are able to discuss this with patients and offer both surgical and medical weight loss options with our comprehensive team. Both Dr. Speer and Dr. Irani are fellowship trained in foregut and bariatric surgery by one of the top five programs in the country. While many general surgeons perform only a few foregut surgeries a year leading to suboptimal outcomes, 90% Dr. Speer and Dr. Irani’s total surgeries are foregut.

We don’t offer a one-size-fits all surgery to patients who come through our doors. We perform pH testing and manometry right here in our office to quickly formulate a customized treatment plan for patients. In many facilities, it can take months to secure pH and motility testing, but in our clinic, we are able to perform these tests and get results within 2-4 weeks to keep patients moving forward in a timely manner. We offer state of the art treatments, including LINX and incisionless endoscopic surgeries (POEM, G-POEM, Z-POEM). We also pride ourselves in excellence with traditional foregut surgeries including fundoplications, hiatal hernias, giant paraesophageal hernias, gastroparesis surgery, reoperative reflux surgery, Heller myotomy, etc.
