Infant Feeding Clinic

The Infant Feeding Clinic at Primary Children’s Hospital offers care for patients less than 12 months of age with feeding difficulties. Feeding difficulties can raise concern for a baby’s safety, nutrition, and growth. There are a wide range of feeding difficulties that can include:

  • Coughing, choking, or gagging with swallowing 
  • Difficulty with breast or bottle feeding 
  • Slow feeding
  • Volume limiting

Our Model

We use an interdisciplinary approach to meet the needs of each patient. Your child will have a full evaluation by a pediatric gastroenterologist, speech therapist, and dietitian.

Conditions for evaluation

  • Coughing, choking, gagging with feeding
  • Slow feeding
  • Bottle refusal
  • Poor growth

Referrals

Referrals are made by physicians or current feeding therapists only.

Please have your physician or feeding therapist contact our clinic by phone or email for referral. Clinic notes and growth charts are requested at time of referral. For physicians outside of Intermountain Healthcare, referrals may be faxed to 801-442-0459.
