About neurologic rehabilitation

Learn more about these conditions.

Our physical and occupational therapists specialize in evaluating and treating impairments that limit movement, such as changes in strength, sensation, muscle tone, motor planning, attention, vision, body part recognition, memory, and behavior. They collaborate with speech language pathologists who address individuals’ challenges with thought processing, speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing. Together we help individuals optimize their health and wellbeing.

We address physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges during and after cancer treatment by creating personalized programs to manage pain, improve mobility and strength, and reduce side effects like fatigue and lymphedema. We also provide strategies to cope with cognitive impairments, swallow difficulties, and emotional stress, enhancing overall quality of life.

Therapy for individuals with spinal cord injury aims to enhance mobility (including seating and positioning), strength, and independence in daily activities through targeted exercises, adaptive equipment, and skill-building strategies, ultimately facilitating confidence and community integration post-injury.

We are specialists in treating diseases of the neuromusculoskeletal system. Conditions such as muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS) are a few of the diseases that respond positively to the care provided by our team of therapists.

We provide comprehensive rehab for patients with a brain injury, including concussion, addressing physical and cognitive issues. Therapy will target mobility, self-care, memory, communication, emotional challenges, vision, dizziness, and other deficits.

Therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease aims to improve strength and mobility, independence in daily activities, and speech and swallowing functions. We can also connect our patients to community resources and classes to help maintain function

Facial rehabilitation is designed to help manage facial palsy/paralysis recovery. Best results occur after you have already regained some facial movements (typically ~6 months after your initial paralysis). We provide education and guidance to optimize nerve healing and function, reduce tightness, retrain movements, and manage unwanted/extra facial movements (synkinesis).
