How can we help?
Now at the beginning of the third trimester, the folds and grooves of the brain develop – markers of the human brain's complexity. Fat continues to build up as your baby grows. By this week, a midwife or doctor may be able to tell your baby's position by feel. Your baby can open and close his eyes.
Your shoes might feel tight. Your rings may not slide easily onto your fingers. Because of the extra fluid in your body, your hands and feet may swell, especially toward the end of the day. Some women find they need to go up a shoe size to allow for this change.
Sign up for a prenatal class. Many hospitals, health plans, and communities offer classes in childbirth, breastfeeding, and parenting. Classes can help you face the future with more knowledge and confidence. Classes also offer a chance to bond with your partner and other expectant parents.
