Expanding behavioral health and specialty care to support every child’s well-being
When 12-year-old Wren helped cut the ribbon at the new Intermountain Health Primary Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Center - Taylorsville Campus, she shared a message of hope: “I want other kids to know they’re not the only ones having hard times.”
Intermountain Health and the Community Health team prioritize behavioral health because it has been identified as one of the most critical significant health needs across the full Intermountain footprint. This work shows Intermountain’s commitment to proactive care—helping children get the support they need early, so they can grow into healthy adults.
Through our Community Health Needs Assessment in Nevada, we know children have the same needs in Nevada. As a result, Intermountain will soon build Nevada’s first stand-alone children’s hospital. Breaking ground in 2026, it will bring advanced pediatric care closer to home and open new possibilities for families across the region.
