Creating a healthier Valentine’s Day will actually make you feel better and happier instead of sluggish.  Valentine’s Day is all about love, so show your heart some love with these tips to make your day healthier!

    • Make dinner at home. This is a healthy, hassle-free way to enjoy your Valentine’s Day with the people you love. Save money and skip the long waits at the restaurants by making a romantic dinner at home. There are some amazing, heart-healthy recipes to choose from like this Broccoli, Mushroom and Pine Nut Frittata. Don’t forget the candles!
    • Get active. Get out and do something fun (and romantic) on this special day. Log off your computers, set your phones down and go on a hike. You will spend quality time together while releasing happy little endorphins that make you feel good. You can even bring a picnic to make your activity extra romantic!
    • Chocolate? Go for it. Dark chocolate is known to be a heart-healthy treat because of the flavanol in dark chocolate. Flavanol is known to help stress, lower blood pressure, and lower bad cholesterol! Even better, make dark chocolate dipped strawberries!
