The Intermountain Medical Center Podiatry Residency Program is a 36-month program, offering hands-on experience in podiatric medicine and surgery, with an added credential in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.
As a resident, you’ll jump into active experience in podiatric medicine and surgery. Our program emphasizes biomechanics and wound care, practicing patient care in high volume settings. You’ll experience a broad range of rotations while training between the Veterans’ Administration systems and private hospitals around Utah.

30 percent of our residency training takes place within the Veterans' Administration system and 70 percent in the Intermountain Healthcare and MountainStar Networks, as well as in the private practice world. Outside of the VA Hospital, we scrub cases in more than 25 hospitals and surgery centers with more than 65 attendings. This combination provides a well-rounded education, joining those things that are unique to the VA with those found only in the private sector. Residents can easily accumulate their required surgical numbers midway through their second year.

The program offers a CME allowance, as well as health insurance, malpractice insurance, vacation time, and sick leave. Meals and lab coats are provided at some locations. For more information, please contact the program office.
Graduates from the Intermountain Medical Center Podiatry Residency Program go on to complete fellowships and enter practices across the country. Currently, we have alumni working in approximately 34 states.
