A. Dennis Berry-Rieser MD

Dennis Berry-Rieser is a Utah native who completed both his undergraduate education in Athletic Training and medical school at the University of Utah. During this time, he was an active member of the Salt Lake County Search and Rescue Team. In his free time Dennis enjoys running, mountain biking, climbing, and reading. Dennis will continue his training at the University of Utah in Anesthesiology.

James M. Graham MD

James grew up in Pleasant View, Utah and graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science. He then worked at Huntsman Cancer Institute researching breast cancer genomics prior to starting medical school. He completed his medical degree at Stony Brook University. Outside of medicine he can be found exercising either in the gym or outdoors on the trails. He will continue his training in diagnostic radiology at the University of Vermont.

W. Scott Griffiths MD

Scott was born and raised in West Jordan, Utah. He was a non-commissioned officer in the Army as a combat engineer. He served in Afghanistan on the explosive ordinance clearance team before attending the University of Utah for his undergraduate degree in Biology. He has a passion for teaching and obtained his master's degree in medical sciences and anatomical instruction from the University of Kentucky where he went on to complete his medical education. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, skydiving, dog parks, video games, and playing any sport from tennis to basketball.

Kelli Hicks MD

Kelli grew up in Alaska and Colorado and loves everything outdoors. She completed a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Latin from Baylor University as a Division 1 Equestrian athlete. She received her medical degree from the University of Washington. Before coming to Anesthesia, Kelli was an Otolaryngology resident at University of North Carolina before she “saw the light” and made the transition to anesthesia. Additionally, as part of a research project during this residency, Kelli was able to return to her home state and work in Nome, Alaska on a project that focused on hearing health in Alaska Native children. Kelli loves skiing, mountain biking, trail running, and camping with fiancé Jake. She will continue her training in anesthesia at the University of Utah.

Jackson N. Howell MD

An Eagle Scout from western Kentucky, Jackson loves the outdoors and has long desired to move to the West. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering before heading to the University of Cincinnati for medical school. He is a member of both the Tau Beta Pi (engineering) and Alpha Omega Alpha (medicine) honor societies. Jackson has long been passionate about oncology care and will be staying in Salt Lake City to continue his training in radiation oncology at the University of Utah after his intern year at Intermountain Medical Center. In his free time, Jackson enjoys hiking, reading, and watching documentaries with his wife.

Victoria is a Louisiana native who attended undergrad at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology. She decided to stay in New Orleans, Louisiana and earn her medical degree at LSU New Orleans when her family moved to Utah. She had the opportunity to become accustomed to life in Utah by visiting her family the past several years. Victoria enjoys skiing, snow tubing and (easy) hikes. She will continue her training at the University of Utah in Anesthesiology.

Brandon grew up in San Luis Obispo, California and attended University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated with a B.S. in Physiology. After working in a pain management clinic for a year, he attended Washington University in St. Louis for medical school. In his free time, Brandon loves anything outdoors – biking and snowboarding in particular – as well as making pizza. After completing his intern year, Brandon will return to Washington University in St. Louis for his Diagnostic Radiology residency.

Ethan grew up in the small town of Sturgis in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He completed his undergraduate degree in Nursing at South Dakota State University and worked as an intensive care unit nurse for three years before beginning medical school at the University of South Dakota. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, hiking, watching professional and college football, and spending time with his wife. After his transitional year he plans to complete a residency in Dermatology at Texas Tech.

Theo grew up in Laguna Hills, California and graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Neuroscience. He moved to the East Coast to attend medical school at the University of Massachusetts and was part of the Population-based Urban and Rural Community Health (PURCH) program, a track that focused on population health, healthcare disparities and health issues specific to urban and rural communities. In his free time Theo enjoys cooking, snowboarding, sports, board games, and spending time with his wife and daughter. After completing his intern year at Intermountain Medical Center, Theo will continue his training at the University of Utah in Anesthesiology.

John grew up in Richmond, Virginia but quickly fell in love with the mountains during his time at Colorado College. After graduating he worked for several years as an adaptive ski instructor and whitewater raft guide prior to attending medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University. He enjoys all varieties of outdoor recreation, photography, wilderness medicine, and helping other students succeed in medical school. He is excited to continue his training in diagnostic radiology at the University of Utah.

Amanda initially grew up in Birmingham, United Kingdom and, later, in Ogden Utah. She completed her undergraduate degree in Zoology at Weber State University. She graduated from the combined MD-PhD program at the University of Utah, where her PhD thesis work focused on studying combination treatment strategies in metastatic melanoma. Amanda is a first-generation college graduate and is passionate about caring for underserved populations. In her free time, you can find her gardening, dog sitting, and trying out new restaurants. Following her intern year at Intermountain Medical Center, Amanda will continue her training at UCLA in dermatology.

Daniella was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She completed her pre-medical undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and majored in Sociology. She then went on to complete medical school at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. During medical school, she really enjoyed her time volunteering as a translator at a community health clinic in South Philly. In her spare time, you can find Daniella hiking, going to concerts, gardening, and trying new cooking recipes. Following her intern year at Intermountain Medical Center, she will continue her training in anesthesiology at the University of Utah Health.
