Intermountain’s revamped error prevention course is now available in My Learning. Check it out to strengthen your knowledge and use of our safety language and error prevention techniques: STAR, ARCC, SBAR, Stop & Resolve, Standardized Handoffs, and Read backs & Repeat backs. The revised course is shorter and simpler for all caregivers.
If your learning plans were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the launch of this new required course will help you get up to speed quickly and learn Intermountain’s language of safety. It’s designed to be a lot more engaging as well. The new course is two parts:
Part 1: A pre-requisite, interactive 20-minute computer-based training:
- Visit My Learning to access the new course.
- The course will be automatically assigned to all new and existing caregivers.
- It’s especially meant for caregivers who haven’t received error prevention training in the past due to COVID-19 related cancellations, full classes, or other scheduling concerns.
- The first 200 caregivers who take the course will get a free Intermountain beanie just in time for colder weather.
Part 2: A 90-minute instructor facilitated experience, intended to empower caregivers to take ownership of improving safety culture:
- The instructor-led experience will launch in January.
- It’s intended for new caregivers who’ll be asked to register for the class upon completion of the CBT.
- Department educators and managers should follow up to ensure caregivers complete the class.
