Six Intermountain hospitals have been recognized by the Utah Safety Council with the Award of Merit for outstanding safety performance: McKay-Dee Hospital, Park City Hospital, Utah Valley Hospital, Cedar City Hospital, Fillmore Community Hospital, and St. George Regional Hospital.
To receive the Award of Merit, the organization’s safety incident rate must be lower than the industry national average, they must demonstrate continuous improvement or sustained levels of excellence, and they must have essential elements of a safety program in place.
The Utah Safety Council also gave Intermountain’s Courier Services the Occupational Seat Belt Award for 100% seat belt usage.
The Utah Safety Council was established to make Utah a safer place to live and work. The council includes more than 1,000 businesses and organizations throughout Utah and focuses on providing the latest training, safety presentations, safety materials, and other resources to business, industry, and the community.
