Nevada’s children deserve a place just for them. A hospital designed around their needs, their families, and their futures. Together, we’re building just that – the state’s first comprehensive, stand-alone children’s hospital.
Set to open in 2030 at the UNLV Harry Reid Research and Technology Park in Las Vegas, the children’s hospital will deliver advanced pediatric specialty care paired with community health and prevention programs to ensure every child has the support they need to bring hope for “when I grow up.” From architectural design to recruiting the nation’s best pediatric clinicians, planning is well underway to ensure the hospital is built to serve our rapidly growing population of children.
A historic campaign of generosity transforming children's health
To bring our pediatric hospital vision to life, Intermountain Foundation has announced the Nevada Campaign for Kids. This campaign is the most ambitious philanthropic effort ever undertaken for children’s health in our state. Led by campaign co-chairs Bill and Wendy Hornbuckle, the campaign invites donors, partners, and community members to help build something that will impact children for generations.

Working better together: a statewide commitment to kids’ health and safety
The new children’s hospital represents a bold step toward improving pediatric health across Nevada. As hospital planning moves forward, Intermountain Children’s Health is investing in programs that support kids now. We’ve just completed our first Community Health Needs Assessment and implementation strategies. And we’re proud to partner with other local organizations to meet the unique needs of our community.
Before medical care is ever needed, the conditions in which children live, learn, play and grow shapes their physical and mental health. Because of this, we’re focused on addressing the factors today that make the difference tomorrow. From mental health and injury prevention programs to improving access to food and stable housing, we’re improving our community now – years before the hospital sees its first patient.
When completed, the children’s hospital will be a hub for pediatric excellence. It will be a driving force to partner with our community and improve the health of our kids. We’re excited to build a location and programs where families feel supported, and our community grows strong.
Nationally recognized children’s care, closer to home
Intermountain Health Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City was ranked by U.S. News & World Report in 11 pediatric specialties for 2025-2026. As we expand services and build the hospital, we’re bringing that same commitment to high-quality pediatric care to Nevada.
