Social work

Medical social workers are available 24 hours a day to support you and help meet the needs of your family.

About us

Medical social work care managers are experts who can help children and families who are going through stressful times. They can help families understand their strengths and challenges, and connect them to resources that can help.

At Intermountain Children's Health, social work care managers are woven throughout the system of care. They are part of the inpatient team at our hospitals, emergency departments and work with our outpatient specialty clinics. They are automatically engaged for certain medical situations, and always available when needed. We know that medical issues and hospitalization can be a stressful experience for the child and the whole family, and we are here to help.

To speak with a social work care manager, ask your nurse to contact the unit social worker, or ask your provider to order a consult.
