Bio

I graduated from the University of Utah psychiatry residency program in 2000. I have been affiliated with Sundance Behavioral Resources from Sept. 2000 until Oct. 2017 when I joined Mckay Dee Behavioral in Ogden Utah. I do enjoy going to work and meeting all types of people and doing my best to practice exceptional psychiatric care. In my time off I enjoy traveling, fishing, snorkeling, hiking and generally spending time with my wife and 5 kids.

Dr. Banks is a wonderful psychiatrist. I have been treated by quite a few. He is very knowledgeable, and compassionate. I trust he has my best interest or my treatment plan.

Banks seemed disinterested in dealing with his patients. It's a hurry prescribe your meds and get out situation. He has no time to listen to clients.

Dr. Banks is very genuine and very knowledgeable physician. He proposed treatments that others didn't address, and gave me hope.

Dr. Banks level of expertise combined with calm assurance proved his professional attitude comes from a good place - his heart and mind.

Dr Banks has done so much for me and I couldn't be more grateful for the professional, and bedside manner. Thinks have been a absolute 180 in the way I feel. The corona virus caused a major anxiety issue for me and all of us. He helps returns phone calls and the staff is very professional and respectful. He was understanding and very helpful. I am lucky enough to have a medical team and Dr banks who actually listens and hears what I'm saying. I feel my health has gotten so much better and DR BANKS GETS 10 out 10 on a scale. I'm treated with respect and dignity. Can't say that about that operation. No Pun :) Thanks for the time and care I receive, and continued support .

Teamwork is obvious and I appreciate the effort.

Psychiatrist didn't listen, just talked. Spoke in a short & rude manner, and was not concerned about myself as a patient. I will NOT go, and see him again after 1 appointment seemed in a mood.
Nov 27, 2019
Dr. Banks helped me through a most difficult time in a very kind way. I am very thankful I became his patient, because of his concern for my health.
Sep 11, 2019
Dr. Banks seems like a fine person, but I find he seems poorly informed on new research and information within the psychiatric world, and can often be dismissive of my concerns about my treatment, which makes it difficult to feel safe emotionally in such a vulnerable setting as a psychiatrist's office. I find myself telling him what I think he expects to hear so that I can get my medications refilled and leave. He has been overtly and inappropriately critical of statements I have made about my personal life.

For the first time in a long time I actually enjoy seeing my provider. He seems concerned and respects me. He lets me speak and actually hears my concerns.

Overall the visit was great! The reception ladies seemed a bit cold or irritated, but still helpful.
May 27, 2019
Timely and understanding.
May 27, 2019
Professional and kind.
May 26, 2019
Getting mental health help is hard. I left feeling more frustrated than when I walked in.
May 26, 2019
I just did NOT feel heard or understood. It really felt like he made some quick presumptions and just stuck with them. I understand that I may present differently than some or most patients that might struggle with the same issues as I do, but at no point did I feel like he listened to what I was trying to express to him. I do not feel like I got the help that I needed.
May 16, 2019
