My primary focus is obstetrics, but I also enjoy gynecological care including colposcopy.
Personal Bio & Interests
Born in Michigan and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, I received my undergraduate degree at UCLA and then returned to Arizona for medical school and residency training. After practicing briefly in Arizona, I practiced for four years in Washington state, then moved with my family to Utah in 1998 -- to be closer to extended family -- and joined Sandy OB/GYN. In 2016 I made the move to Women's Health Specialists in St. George. I consider Utah my home after falling in love with its beautiful mountains and fabulous people.
Obstetrics is my true love. I find that pregnancy is a special and unique time of a woman's life; a time when women need a special advocate, a listening ear, and a very knowledgeable resource. I also very much enjoy gynecological care from the continuity of annual visits to helping women with pap and period problems, to performing surgeries. I consider myself an energetic and outgoing individual. My greatest joy from practicing medicine is the close interaction with my patients. Medical knowledge and skill are essential, but I believe that it's really the one-on-one communication and reassurance that forms the bond and makes healing truly possible.
I love the practice of medicine and I'm very thankful for my family's great support. I'm happily married and have children and grandchildren. My free time is filled with staying physically fit, reading, scrapbooking and enjoying outdoor theater and musical concerts.
