Our immersive, intensive, and highly-interactive program focuses on key attributes and competencies such as vision, integrity, resilience, emotional intelligence, psychological safety, implicit bias, and stakeholder alignment. The emphasis is on practical knowledge and experiences that enable participants to immediately apply the lessons they learn.

The Format

Participants start the program by attending a three-and-a-half-day immersive week, in-person. Leaders will then return home for five weeks, where they will engage in weekly two-hour virtual sessions. In November, participants return for a second three-day immersive week to conclude the program. Sessions are designed to allow participants to learn in exciting and innovative ways, including collective and individual work, an individual assessment, case studies, simulation, and coaching. In addition to these sessions, participants will join small group discussions throughout the program.

The Learning Experience


Leadership assessments help participants understand and utilize their areas of strength and where they might improve.

Interactive Instruction

Relevant and practical case studies, large-and small-group discussions, simulation exercises, and learning activities are designed to deepen understanding and facilitate application.


Participants spend time in the Leadership Simulation Center, an advanced learning environment where leaders immediately demonstrate new competencies and receive constructive peer feedback.

Coaching and Mentoring

Leaders of the Institute are available for consultation and coaching during the cohort and by individual arrangement after the program concludes.


The inspiring Intermountain Kem C. Gardner Transformation Center is a state-of-the-art building with commanding views of the stunning Wasatch Mountains. It was carefully designed to foster an environment of collaborative learning, simulation, reflection, and imagination.
