About

Leading One Intermountain is a hands-on, two-day course developed in partnership with the Office of Patient Experience, Office of Patient Affairs, Physician Leaders, and Leadership and Organizational Development. The course is facilitated primarily by Intermountain Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in leadership.

In Leading One Intermountain you will learn strategies to foster a teaming culture, empower your team, and enhance your leadership vision anchored in five leadership behaviors – trust, collaboration, communication, developing others, and appreciation. The course includes simulation center experiences to practice and enhance communication skills around performance, professional, and challenging conversations.

Course Objectives

Provide comprehensive and uniform physician leadership development aligned with Intermountain’s Fundamentals of Extraordinary Care.

Participants will be able to:

  • articulate and guide strategy by learning techniques to engage, develop, and empower others
  • discover their “why” as a leader and their role in teaming within the organization
  • communicate effectively through safety, performance, and professional growth conversations
  • foster an environment of psychological safety
  • learn principles to enhance fulfillment in your leadership role
