Sports Medicine is not only for young people on a formal sports team, but for athletes of all activities, ages and abilities. Our doctors treat musculoskeletal injuries and help you maximize your physical function whether you are an athlete or looking to establish a healthy exercise routine.

Sports medicine physicians commonly see patients for:

  • Fracture care
  • Sprains and strains
  • oint injections or aspiration
  • Skin care (sewing cuts, looking at rashes in wrestlers, etc.)
  • Compartment pressure testing – measuring pressure in legs when they hurt during or after exercise
  • Breathing tests (Spirometry) to test for exercise-induced asthma
  • Exercise stress treadmill and EKG to test for heart conditions or problems with exercise
  • Ultrasound – a new tool to diagnose “soft tissue” injuries such as rotator cuff tears, muscle or tendon tears, cysts, etc

Bountiful Sports Medicine also offers sports performance training for runners with the Running Lab. The Running Lab helps runners prevent injuries and recover from pain that might be caused from their running stride.
