At Layton Parkway Nurse-Midwives Clinic we are committed to providing high quality care that meets the individual needs of our patients. Midwife means “with-woman” and as Nurse-midwives we seek to provide compassionate, nurturing healthcare in a partnership with the women we serve. We work with women throughout their lives including adolescence, pregnancy and menopause. Services we provide include care during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, as well as gynecological and basic primary care.

All Certified Nurse-Midwives are registered nurses with advanced training (either a master’s or doctorate degree). In addition, they have passed a national certification examination to receive the title of Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board and are Licensed Independent Practitioners.

Nurse-Midwives support normal lifecycle events such as pregnancy and childbirth with an emphasis on evidence-based, supportive care. Studies show that women who receive midwifery care may have improved pregnancy outcomes including decreased risk of preterm birth and Cesarean delivery rates. Our Nurse-Midwives work closely with their care partners including Obstetrician/Gynecologists and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists to provide collaborative, high quality care.

Pregnancy and Childbirth

Every Certified Nurse-Midwife is trained and qualified to care for women before, during, and after pregnancy. Our goal is to develop a partnership with our patients. We provide education, evaluation and support and recognize the individuality of the woman, her family and her pregnancy. Similarly, we strive to empower our patients by providing the tools to support them during their labor.

One powerful tool in our toolbox is the healing and calm environment offered at Layton Hospital featuring well-appointed private rooms with an abundance of natural light and a home-like feel. We encourage you to call to schedule a tour if you are considering Layton Hospital for your birth experience.
