VenaSeal™ closure system is used to treat varicose veins. Unlike other treatments, it does not require multiple needle sticks or large volumes of local anesthesia. You can expect no sedation and may return to their normal routine quickly. We offer free varicose vein screenings daily.
The procedure begins with the placement of a very small amount of medical grade adhesive into the vein through a small catheter. Once the affected vein is closed, blood is immediately re-routed through other healthy veins in the leg. The closed vein will undergo a process of hardening (referred to as Sclerosis) and will be gradually absorbed by the body.
Following the procedure you will be encouraged to walk immediately and resume normal daily activity. You may have minor soreness in the thigh. This may appear a few days to a few weeks after the procedure, and should not be a concern.
VenaSeal™ closure system is FDA approved, but is not currently covered by insurance.
