Laura Cipro is an experienced psychiatric nurse practitioner with a demonstrated history of working with clients in acute psychiatric crisis as well as managing symptoms of chronic mental illness. She has approximately 10 years’ experience working in the mental health field. Laura began her career as a registered nurse working with pediatric patients in acute psychiatric inpatient settings at John’s Hopkins Hospital and Children’s National Medical Center. Laura then relocated to Utah after completing her advanced training. She joins the Round Valley Clinic after three and a half years at Primary Children’s Hospital inpatient behavioral health unit and one and a half years at Sundance Behavioral Resources outpatient practice.

Laura studied at Georgetown University in Washington, DC for her first undergraduate degree, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in History and Minor in Government in 2007. Laura then went on to pursue a career in nursing. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD in 2010. In 2010 Laura was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honors Society. In 2014 Laura completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training and degree at the University of Maryland’s School of Nursing. In July of 2014 she received national certification as a mental health practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Laura specialized in treating children and adolescents. She is skilled in treating a wide range of mental health disorders including Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, psychotic disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, as well as disruptive and oppositional defiant behavior disorders. Additionally, Laura has a special interest in treating comorbid mental health conditions in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
