Since starting Pilates, my back symptoms have improved significantly!

Since starting Pilates, my back symptoms have improved significantly. I am able to perform things like lawn mowing, household chores, and even waxing my truck... Before Pilates I was unable to do most of these activities without ending up on the couch taking some pain relievers. Pilates has been amazingly successful for me

Frankly, I wake up early twice a week to go to Pilates because I know if I don't go, my back will hurt and I will feel like I need surgery or feel like I need an injection (because of this class, I have never needed either of those). I am addicted!

Pilates has truly changed my life!

I basically hate to exercise! Suprise. I need to though and I know it. I had pain everywhere! I was sick of feeling raunchy all the time so I saw the write up in Stories about Pilates so I thought, "why not?" So glad I took the first step. It has changed my life. I didn't take it to lose weight. My goal was to get in better physical condition. After 15 months of Pilates I can honestly say that I have achieved the goal and can't see my life without it. I feel stronger and more energetic. My back pain is less, my posture is better, I sleep better and I just move better. I love the way it works every muscle I own. Pilates has helped me eliminate my pain

My lower back has hurt me my whole life and Pilates eliminated the pain. It also has helped me eliminate shoulder pain. I am hopeful it helps me with all the other sports I enjoy. -JB.

I am so much more flexible and stronger thanks to Pilates!

The reason I started Pilates is because I noticed my larger muscles (quads, hamstrings, and biceps) were getting weaker. I did not even know that my tiny muscles were getting weak too. I have attended six sessions and my spine is so much more flexible and my shoulders are a lot stronger. My feet no longer cramp like they used to when it was cold. I now know it is possible to get a lot stronger even though I am 60 years old. I am going to keep going to TOSH because I think it is important to have an instructor with physical therapy education. -Jo Ellen

Tosh Pilates truly saved me!

I just had my two year follow-up with my back surgeon and I told him, as I do everyone else, I don't know what I would have done without TOSH Pilates these last few years following surgery. I think it truly saved me from going backwards with my recovery. I am so thankful to my physical therapist Kristen, who told me about the Pilates program as I was nearing my graduation from Physical Therapy. Even though I had gone as far as I could in PT, I did not feel ready, confident, or strong enough to be on my own yet. the TOSH Pilates program had just recently come out and I was lucky enough to grab a spot. As a result of TOSH Pilates, I am definitely more confident in daily activities. I don't know what I would have done without specifically the TOSH Pilates program. -Kim H.

I have lost 40 pounds, thanks to Pilates!

I have lost 40 pounds and have successfully kept them off by continuing with Pilates. Nothing says fat like bending sideways and having folds all the way. Pilates has been the only exercise that works my middle. Pilates is also enjoyable. I sleep better, am stronger, and feel that this exercise will take me into my 70's and 80's. -Kim R.

Pilates has helped me in so many ways!

Pilates has helped me in so many ways from staying active through a stressful week of work and school. It's allowed me to share this hour with my husband, working out together and we both enjoy it. Also, I have noticed with my running it has helped me feel stronger and more flexible. I enjoy the small class setting. Pilates saved me

Last summer my family decided to go hike up to Mineral Basin to see the wild flowers. We rode the tram up and hiked up to the crest where they had begun construction of a new lodge. As we started hiking down it became apparent that they had tricked in road base of loose gravel. The loose gravel shifted under our feet and it was treacherous. At one point my left foot slide in the gravel and shot forward. My first thought was that I was going down on the jagged rocks. Then "the core fires first" that had been drilled into my head during Pilates workouts popped into my head. With a sudden exhale I pursed my lips and blew out as I tightened every muscles in my core. My arms flew out and I came to a stop in a position that looked like a warrior 2 pose in Yoga. We laughed about it then and many times since. We've come to affectionately call those moments "channeling Betsy (one of the instructors)." -Wanda.
