The Saint Joseph Hospital-Denver Health Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship offers excellent high-risk and surgical obstetric training and the opportunity to practice full-spectrum family medicine.
About our program
With a varied patient population encompassing urban underserved and insured patients, our Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship provides longitudinal experience in caring for high-risk obstetric patients and high-volume procedural training. Fellows have the opportunity to learn from both Family Medicine and OB/GYN providers at Saint Joseph Hospital and Denver Health Hospital.

Program details
Everything you need to know about our fellowship program and what to expect
Our fellowship provides inpatient and outpatient longitudinal training in high-risk obstetric care, including preeclampsia/gestational hypertension, gestational and pre-existing diabetes, preterm labor/PPROM, TOLAC/VBAC, postpartum hemorrhage and chronic medical conditions in pregnancy at two metro Denver hospitals. Fellows have continued inpatient and outpatient family medicine experience, including coverage of the inpatient family medicine service and outpatient continuity clinic. Additionally, fellows have the opportunity to customize their elective experiences in preparation for their future career.
How To Apply
We accept applications annually from July 1st through August 15th and conduct interviews in mid to late September. We offer one fellowship position each year.

- Two letters of recommendation (one of which must be from your program director)
- Personal statement describing your interest in the program and future career goals
- Procedure log from residency (including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, other obstetric procedures, ultrasound, and all non-OB inpatient and outpatient procedures). Please include total numbers for each procedure submitted.
- Official transcript of Step 1, 2 and 3 board scores (USMLE or COMLEX)
- PGY-4 salary
- Options for full family insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, FSA, and retirement
- 4 weeks PTO, 1 week CME, CME allowance
