Personal Bio & Interests
Dr. Anderson is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, and enjoys performing Cataract and Refractive surgery with the most advanced technology lenses, laser-assisted surgery, Minimally invasive Glaucoma devices, and LASIK, PRK, and ICL. He also enjoys eyelid surgery, glaucoma, corneal diseases, and medical retina. He has published in peer reviewed journals and presented papers and posters at national ophthalmic meetings.Born and raised in Layton, Utah, he loves the mountains. He attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude earning a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. He holds his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. In addition to his medical practice, he served for 10 years in the Army National Guard and finished as a Captain.Dr. Anderson pursued a career in medicine because he loves people and wanted to help them in some capacity. He thoroughly enjoys listening to people and helping to improve or restore people's sight. During his residency, he provided medical and surgical care to underserved populations in Kenya and plans to continue international work. He speaks Spanish, which he learned on a LDS Mission to Panama.Seeing the world from different perspectives, enjoying breath-taking landscapes, and meeting new people are just a few of the things Dr. Anderson enjoys. When Dr. Anderson is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his Wife and kids, skiing, boating, canyoneering, hiking, and playing a wide variety of sports as well as attending musicals and local cultural events.Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
