Raj Shrestha, chief operating officer, community-based care, and president and CEO, Castell, has been named to Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Minority Leaders list.
Shrestha is the first Intermountain caregiver, and the inaugural representative of a Utah-based institution, to appear on this prestigious list. Now in its eighth edition, the biennial publication recognizes the top executives reshaping care delivery, leading financial turnarounds, adopting value-based models of care, and ensuring that staffs reflect their communities Also included on this year’s list is U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams, American Medical Association president Dr. Patrice Harris, and Geisinger Health president and CEO Dr. Jaewon Ryu.
Shrestha joined Intermountain as chief operating officer of community-based care in 2018. In his role he oversees Intermountain Medical Group practice management and primary care physicians, Homecare, Hospice, Senior Services, retail and wellness clinics, and population health management within the clinically integrated network. Last year, he took on the added responsibility of leading Castell, an Intermountain company founded to help other healthcare organizations accelerate their transition from volume to value-based systems of care.
