Intermountain Health is thrilled to announce that Lee Boyles has stepped into the role of President of the Intermountain Health Montana | Wyoming Market and St. Vincent Regional Hospital. With a passion for innovation and a heart for service, Lee is ready to lead us into a bright healthcare future.
According to Jim Sheets, President of the Intermountain Health Peaks Region, Lee is not only an innovator but also a servant leader who believes in collaborating with community stakeholders to improve patient care and increase access to healthcare.
“We're lucky to have someone like Lee on board, especially during these times of significant change in the healthcare industry. He's coming back to his roots, and we're confident he'll make a tremendous impact in Montana and Wyoming,” shares Jim.
But who is Lee Boyles? Well, he's not just any healthcare executive – he's one of us. Lee is a Montana native, hailing from Glendive before venturing out to the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. With a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Healthcare Administration under his belt from the University of Montana and Des Moines University, respectively, Lee brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role.
"I am thrilled to be back in my home state of Montana and join this incredibly talented team at Intermountain Health," says Lee. "We have so many opportunities to make a difference in the communities we serve, and I'm eager to dive in and enhance our investments where it matters most."
Lee’s enthusiasm doesn't stop at the hospital doors. He's a family man who loves spending time outdoors and playing sports with his wife, Kayla, and their three daughters. And speaking of family, they're just as excited as he is to move back to the place they all call “home.”
Intermountain Health is also delighted to announce that Karen Costello has been appointed as the President of St. James Hospital. With over 45 years of dedication to our organization, Karen brings a wealth of experience and a passion for healthcare excellence to her new role.
Karen's journey with us has been nothing short of remarkable. She began her career with us straight out of high school when she enrolled in the St. Vincent School of Radiology in Billings. She also completed her bachelor's degree in Radiological Sciences and a master's in health administration. Karen held numerous leadership roles at St. Vincent Regional Hospital including Senior Director of Oncology and Palliative Care for the Montana region and head of operations for St. Vincent Cancer Centers of Montana.
Most recently, she served as the President of Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City. Under her visionary leadership, Holy Rosary Hospital witnessed remarkable improvements across the board – from enhanced patient satisfaction and employee engagement to elevated clinical quality and financial performance. Not to mention, Karen played a pivotal role in developing the new Holy Rosary Cancer Center set to open later this summer, a testament to her commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of our rural communities.
Lee Boyles, President of the Montana | Wyoming Market, couldn't be more thrilled about Karen’s new role. He praised her as a visionary leader with a proven track record of fostering strong relationships with providers, caregivers, and community partners.
“With Karen at the helm, I’m confident that St. James Hospital will soar to new heights of excellence and innovation,” shares Lee.
"It's truly an honor and a privilege to join the incredible team at St. James Hospital and serve our southwest Montana community," says Karen. "I've cherished every moment of my journey working alongside our providers, caregivers, and community partners on the eastern side of the state; now, I'm eager to bring that same level of dedication to advancing our mission of caring for communities across the southwest Montana, especially those who are in need, while empowering individuals to live their healthiest lives possible."
When she's not leading the charge in healthcare, you can find Karen hitting the pavement as an avid runner or getting lost in the pages of a good book. And when it's time to unwind, there's nothing she loves more than soaking up the sun on any tropical beach with her family. Speaking of family, Karen and her husband, Jim, are proud parents to two grown children and doting grandparents to two wonderful grandchildren.
