For greater than 20 years Dr. John McCann has limited his practice to facial plastic surgery. In addition he cares for patients with disorders that affect the eyelids, orbit, or tear drainage system. Dr. John McCann has performed more than 20,000 procedures. He has received numerous accolades including being voted to Best Doctors in America, and a VIP member of Who's Who amongst Physicians. In a national poll of his peers he was one of only a few cosmetic surgeons in Utah voted to be in the top 1% of his field. He is a world renowned teacher in his field and doctors travel from the US and around the world to train with him. He has published nearly 100 scientific papers and has invented a number of devices including the compressive goggles used by patients to reduce post-operative bruising by 400%. Dr. McCann completed surgery training at UCSF and then did a fellowship in eyelid and facial plastic surgery at the University of Utah. He then took a position on the full-time faculty at UCLA. During 9 years on the full time faculty at UCLA, Dr. McCann was the head of ophthalmology at a UCLA affiliated hospital, the founder and director of the Aesthetic Center and the co-director of the orbital disease center. He retired from UCLA a tenured professor in 2005 and moved to Utah. Outside of work Dr. McCann is inseparable from his wife Rachel. They both enjoy traveling as well as outdoor activities such as fly fishing, and white water rafting.
