Dr. Scharmann, a native of Utah, received his medical degree from University of California, San Francisco, completed a three
year training program in Family Medicine in Santa Rosa, California, followed by a Family Medicine fellowship. He is also Board Certified in Sports Medicine. Dr. Scharmann joined the Porter Family Medicine Clinic's Residency Program in 1996 as the Assistant Director. He serves as team physician for Weber State University, Ogden Raptors Professional Baseball and various high schools, and is a member of the McKay-Dee Sports Medicine Leadership Committee. Dr. Scharmann's expertise in Sports Medicine is highly regarded throughout the community and region. Dr. Scharmann also serves on the Board of the Ogden Surgical Medical Society and is Former Chairman of the Utah Medical Association Financial Services Division.\n
